Painting and Photography

Hi, I'm Isla! Evelyn and I attend the same boarding school, and she just arrived back at our campus. Over winter break she got a new phone, and hasn't stopped taking pictures! Usually I take all of the pictures for our blog, but she has been trying out her photography chops!

Today I decided to paint a picture of my front door back in NYC. Usually I paint pictures of places I want to go, (mostly Hawaii), but today I was feeling homesick. What do you like to paint?

For Christmas I received a new paint palette, and several new tubes of paint. I go through paint like water, and am constantly at the art supply store! (I am bargaining for the employee discount I visit so often!)  

Putting the finishing touches on a painting is my favorite part! I love adding all the tiny details and delicate brushstrokes. Even as I was painting, I gave Evelyn a few photography tips. I guess you could say I am a backseat artist! Oops. :)
